Rod Hillman is the Chief Executive of Ecotourism Australia
Rod has a life-long commitment to tourism in protected areas as a land manager, tourism operator, advocate and policy maker. He is the current Chief Executive of Ecotourism Australia (EA), Australia’s peak industry group representing the ecotourism Industry.
Rod has broad experience in tourism and protected area management in Australia and Overseas holding CEO, Park Manager and General Manager Roles in Western Australia, Queensland, ACT, UK, Kenya and Papua New Guinea. These roles have all focused on delivering tourism in natural settings and protected areas that create conservation outcomes whilst generating enjoyable and meaningful experiences for visitors.
He is a previous Deputy Chair of Ecotourism Australia, the Founding Chair of ‘Tourism in Australia’s Protected Areas Forum’ (TAPAF), A previous Director of the National Tourism Alliance, Green List of Protected Areas reference group member, Australia’s National Landscapes Administrator, previous Mentor for the Kokoda Track Foundation young leaders and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
